Are open tubulars not just good quality clinchers with Kevlar beads?
-
• #65130
For what it is worth and from my personal experience, open tubulars have more supple walls so much so they are pretty much flat when one side of the bead is mounted on the rim.
Lovely ride though and wouldn't switch them out for anything else.
That said, have seen tubes being pinched many a times by those who claim know what they're doing.
I run some on my commuter (challenge not vittoria) and I love them!

I was very tempted by this basically unused steel kona. Went for a 90s Marin instead, but this one is pretty great too, a worthy LFGSS bike I think

Not just for winter - i've got a set of those on my summer bike as some of the roads here are terrible, lovely & supple with more p* protection than race tyres - what's not to like!? Come up around 26mm width on Open pros but with a bit more height.
Also: Genesis 931 Equilibrium disc 56 in Stockport, great posh commuter / winter trainer

IF with @general_greyharbour paint, 57cm.
Quite the bargain. -

Dan did that one a few years ago. Whole bunch of colours on there. Fades. Airbrushing. Flowcoat. Matte clear on top. Not an easy one, nor cheap.
What's the asking price?

It would be a bargain, were it not for this
that is quite some geometry. 47cm seat tube, 59cm top tube with a 20cm head tube!
edit: just realised the 'ss' in 'ssx' stands for stainless steel. Crazy price, a real pity about the geometry
