Man, I need to get out more. She flew in a Sikorsky S76 and based on average fuel consumption the flight would have burned about 38 gallons of aviation fuel.
The car she normally travels in is heavy and has a 7 litre Bentley V8 that does about 19mpg. That works out at about 7 gallons to get to Sandringham from Windsor.
Yup, its a lot worse. (not taking road entourage into account)

I'd imagine there's still a signigicant enough number of cars travelling to Sandringham as well with additional things that need to be transported for her right?
-
• #2579
Your guess is as good as mine but i'd assume so.
-
• #2580
She should take a bus.
-
• #2581
There probably is, but the only thing that's going in the helicopter is the queen and maybe a couple of companions - all the rest will travel by road anyway regardless of how she gets there. The only comparison is the Bentley vs. the helicopter.

Yes good point.

Saw this thread pop to the top, and thought her time had come...
-
• #2584
Apparently Camilla PB visited a school yesterday and flew in by helicopter.
-
• #2585
She can always take the royal train.
-
• #2586
She was going to but rail replacement bus service at the moment
-
• #2587
Don’t be absurd.
Royal Rail Replacement Bus.
-
• #2588
At least her bus pass is free

V Guiffre probably did source girls for Epstein as he operated a sort of sick pyramid scheme where girls could avoid 'massage' duties by getting more girls into the their clutches.
However she was a groomed, trafficked abused kid so this is hardly the damning indictment Prince Paedos team are making out.
The Queen is giving Andrew her full backing apparently.
I hate the Royal family. -

I hate the Royal family
Hard to disagree with this.

All the media publish/broadcast fawning stories about how the Queen will be attending this morning's remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph, only to be blindsided by a back sprain that prevents Liz from going.
Buck House's media management team are truly masters at this stuff.

What would they do if she became incapacitated, like her grandfather? Presumably it would be much more difficult to keep quiet these days, so striking the balance between intimate family affairs and transparency from a head of a democratic state…. Tricky.
-
• #2593
All we need is Charles George Henry and William to have a car crash on a family outing and we could be due to have King Sexpest.
-
• #2594
The odd 'sighting' of her driving a Range Rover within the grounds will keep the plebs quiet.
-
• #2595
William has a few heirs, so presumably they would get the crown?
-
• #2597
William has a few heirs
he'd look better totally bald at this point.

• #2598
It's bad enough sharing a planet with that dollop of slimy shite, I don't want to share a hairstyle...

Thought this was a reference to the Stewart Lee bit.

“Hopefully bring someone as much joy and pleasure as it did me”
Spoken like a true Diana hater
Genuine question. How does a 25 minute helicopter ride compare to a 3 hour road journey in an armoured car with a big engine (with the associated entourage of police outriders and bodyguards etc) compare in terms of emissions?
