Yep. Nice and close to the road so get covered in salt, then rot really fast, if you drive the car in winter.

Harry is a brand ambassador for JLR! A Range Rover out of warranty is a brave choice.

So they are the same thing then?
Cool, I'll message you if the nightmare ever happens. The cars for 70k on it. Be a shame if a computer took it off the road. But I've had issues with it not starting twice and there's a general issue with the passenger door not locking (unless done manually). Both signs of comp issues

Door could be the wires broken, or corroded connectors. Thought it was usually all the central locking stops working. But am talking about the c2/c3/c4 and by the time I get to them the electric windows fail too.
Have the cit/pug software and connectors so no need to worry about that.

E63 is back!
Mercedes said, in response to my request for a discount based on the shocks dying so early in their life, fuck off. Which was expected but unfortunate.
So I'm now £935 lighter for a service, MOT and a damper.

Ooh. We had one of those. We called it an '82 Chrysler LeBaron. Underpowered Mitsubishi engine under the hood and loads of simulated wood grain.
Our was white.

Horrendous. I drove a maroon coloured, convertible one of those years ago and it was the absolute moistest of dog turds. Somewhat amusing to tie in knots.

It was one of many cars inherited from my grandfather.
'77 Honda CVCC (fucking great car)
'82 LeBaron
'78 Toyota Corona Estate
'86 Dodge Ram Van -

Wish I had a CVCC now! Classic little nugget of a car.
When I was a kid we had a faded yellow Corona estate, probably a 77? Got replaced by a metallic bronze/copper coloured one.
Did many trips between Sydney and cairns in those cars!

Been pondering which antifreeze to get for the car, as there are quite a few types from the usual silicate to OAT. All are pre mixed. Here there are renault/dacia specific (yellow/flourescent), PSA specific (very dark purple), then differing colours from red/purple/lighter green
What a minefield. Especially as I haven't changed the oil thermostat, and wanted to do that at the same time as the coolant. Which I have dragged my heals, for quite a while as I thought that I be back in the UK or the car sold.
Still need to replace the clutch fluid, as have replaced the brake fluid and given the brakes calipers a clean, pads and shims a clean and relube, even cleaned out the sliders and regreased them. No more sticky calipers, well no more one wheel being warmer than the other.
When I do the clutch fluid should do the gearbox reverse switch, which I have. But haven't got a deep enough socket to replace without removing a few other things. So same time as clutch fluid.
Then needs a gearbox oil change as the oil is low....Then that brings the what gearbox oil to use. Looks like it is different in the US to the UK. Then is not a hypoid gearbox (gl5 is out) then what grade some say 75w90 other say 75w and then the closest to the tested US stuff is synthetic 15w40 synthetic diesel oil.
Then I need to replace a suspension bush but seems very hard to buy an aftermarket one..so much for the xtype being a mondeo...
@Light_EDDed The later s type..

They had the pop-up camper roof added too for retirement road trips. Didn't keep it long after he died.

Cool...I love a pop top. I wanted a gen 3 dodge camper but ended up with an Econoline instead. Very fond memories of traversing the western US (and Mexico) in it.
