Looking gooooooooooooood. I'm finding standard P Zero's pretty dead to ride. What are these ones like?
-
• #1928
I'm slightly unsure on them. They're quick and hold air really well but I've experienced a fair bit of back wheel slip when out of the saddle on switchbacks and they don't quite feel as nice as GP5000s.
I'll keep them until they wear out but might not replace like for like.

I thought they were straight. My bad.

Yeah, how I felt. Good enough to wear out but not replace them. I'm just pining for Turbo Cotton's again... think I'll just bite the bullet despite the 2x cost of Corsa's. Makes riding so much more enjoyable.

My goodness, that Speedvagen isn’t a looker - the seatmast topper and the cranks are absolutely 🤢

Agreed - looks like a Smarties' container.

yeah, alright you can criticise of course, pick holes why don't you and it might not be to your taste but the sales blurb, the writing I mean, that stuff about the origins and that, that had me swooning, like fucking poetry man, pure poetry, HOW DO THEY DO THAT? I mean really HOW? It made me believe something , believe the story, and any price on that is too cheap

Does anybody know anywhere in London I can get this done? I want to sand blast my titanium frames so they have the matt finish and not a brushed finish.

I have also used the same guys 3-4 times. Always done a tidy job for me. Round the back of Penge.

Hey can you PM some pics of the before and after work please? Do you keep any parts on the bike, BB, headset and they mask that off somehow, or if they just want the frame, does the headset and BB shell then need reaming again after? as most LBS hate it when you ask that if you have a Ti frame as it knackers the reaming tool as normally they would only use that on steel frames.

I used them to media blast several frames (steel and aluminum) prior to re-painting. You will need to strip all the parts off. They will then protect all the relevant threads with rubber bungs. Pretty standard process.

Which builder did you end up going with, or is that confidential?
-
• #1947
Seeing as I work for a framebuilder now, my own batch production dreams are on hold. It's a Waltly. Took quite a lot of back and forth to get the design right and even so there's a detail or two not quite as I wanted. You really do have to specify every single thing or they'll make assumptions.

They sometimes chase me if I don't reply within 24 hours. Definitely no trouble in communication in my experience but they are mad busy and have a 4 month lead time at the moment compared to 6 weeks normally.
Are you emailing amy@waltlyti.com ? -
• #1949
Exiting! I think that the market niche in regards to framebuilding that could prove the most profitable is as an consultant to prospective Walty-buyers (I think I would be willing to pay if I didn't want to learn).
