Pay up. Well worth it

Are they just swisstop BXPs?
-
• #10454
Do they brake that much better, or is it just better rim/block life?
-
• #10455
I have a massive 2.5km 12% descent at the end of my commute that crosses 2 busy intersections. I think i need to get some
-
• #10456
They are sharper and keep the rim cleaner!
-
• #10457
Yes blue flash pro bxp I think
-
• #10458
Rob, for SJS what’s the lightest current build you can provide (both rim and disc)
-
• #10459
MiniMODs hubs and rims for sure.
For disc, probs hope rs4 hubs miniMODs rims
-
• #10460
Apologise I meant the whole bike (both for rim and disc bike)
-
• #10461
In terms of weight btw.
-
• #10462
We have a 9.3kg bike in store, easy to get that under 9kg but it’s currently £4K, with carbon wheels that I would swap to alu saving about £500 …
I think with a steel frame, 8.5kg is the limit without making the bike unusable.
-
• #10463
Is that with a S or M stem?
-
• #10464
S type

Only asking as my other half wants a Brompton (after see saw the video of people angel grinding a D-lock off the rack ) also because as it looks very likely the ‘lightweight’ one won’t come out anytime soon. She is tiny though at 4ft11 and would small hands and is worried about reaching the brake levers.
-
• #10466
I’d use an older m type with a flat bar then, s type be too long and high.
How light does it need to be? How many gears?
-
• #10467
This was my thought as well.
Is there an alternative for brakes with smaller hands?
Not too sure yet, Ideally around 8kg would be great which means around 2 gears no?
-
• #10468
You can just wind the stock ones in, but I’d fit aftermarket ones
I do have a spare frame, brand new
-
• #10469
Hack a 2 speed to 3 to save some weight instead of a conventional 3 speed?
-
• #10470
Absolutely. 1-4 speed on a minimods hub

What’s the preferred carbon mudguard L type (so no rack)?
Geezer came past me with some and got me thinking about upgrading.
Also how can you remove the rattle from standard mudguards? It’s usually the screws around the mudguard wheel, but no matter how much I tighten them they still seem to shake themselves loose.. -
• #10473
Do the carbon mudguards actually reduce the noise? They might be stronger, but I don’t think any lighter.
-
• #10474
hoping the fitments will be better than the original mudguards, and I can silence the rattle.
Might need to use threadlock this time round.. -
• #10475
Ain’t really any brought into the Uk, fit in exactly the same way so doubt any noise difference
Been tempted a few times, but the miser in me always goes for the fibrax option!
