  • Since I bought it back in 2000, my Leatherman Wave (it has everything you list above, and more) has been the go-to tool that I pick up whenever I'm going out on site. (I should add that my job is the sort which doesn't ordinarily require me to take tools on site - I just enjoy being prepared for any eventuality).

  • Oh, I should make it clear... I'm not going for "more tools", just essential tools.

So many have metal files, scissors, all kinds of things. I would prefer few tools but the right ones.

Will go have a look at the Wave though :)

  • For the record, I also have one called a Skeletal CX or something. It doesn't get much use as it doesn't have all that many tools. Knife, pliers, slightly wanky screwdriver (two different sizes of Pozi), and that's about it.
    Horses for courses, I guess.

ETA - I've just noticed that there are also 2 x flat bit screwdrivers on there - it just lacks the scissors you were after. Maybe that's the one you should look at - it is also lighter than most other tools of that size.

  • I have a leatherman wave, I use it every day.

Don’t think you can carry it around though
