But you don't choose the architect and the architect's client is the builder. Their job is to save the builder money, not get you the best product

Well I can only speak as I find having used them.
Nothing to stop Chris using his own architect then giving the plans to the builder to work to.
What I can say is agl lofts won't be anywhere near 60k. Spend the money on the design and fixtures and fittings. Don't spend it on an inflated price for the actual loft build.

The architect of one of the companies we got quotes from came up with a design which meant we couldn't fit a double bed in. We ditched them at that point.

It's all designed by an architect. The bloke comes over and you go through it all with him, he then sends you the plans.
