  • They're mostly evangelical Christians who interweave QAnon with the book of Revelations and the Rapture. It's all about the end times, with the faithful few being saved. Signs of impending doom are God's chosen country (which is not Israel) being overrun by non-whites, abortionists, paedophiles, gays, Democrats and antifa. The Rapture is almost mainstream now. There've been so many films about it. https://creepycatalog.com/movies-about-the-biblical-rapture/ There are plenty of rich Evangelicals to get them produced.

Some of the films have Nicolas Cage in them (of course). Left Behind is a belter. I saw it on Tv without knowing what it was about. Mind blown. Give it a watch, and try to forget the R word. It's on Netflix and Prime. Maybe get a friend to trick you into watching it when you get home from the pub. Cage is flying an airliner, so you might think you're watching a slightly sub par Con Air follow up. (Maybe Con Air was also about the Rapture?)

  • I stayed with Evangelicals in Florida. It was a distressing and confusing experience. The kids are home-schooled so they never learn anything 'liberal'. They only socialise with other home-schooled kids. Their church steers them towards Christian rock bands and Christian films. They go to Christian colleges. And their families have massive political influence. They don't need to be rich, because at election time they club together in a Super PAC and buy votes by upping the TV ad budget. Florida is often one of the few states which decides the electi0n result, and it's often a close race. So these weirdos get the power to inflict a pro-war President on the whole world, then the planes go to the Middle East to reshape it in God's image.
