The Shiv seatpost is quite long, like double that of a normal aero road bike aero post, so the rubber bands get a workout trying to fit it.
Zip ties. But i understand your desire for a proper solution rather than bodge.
Not so into dipping the lights. Braking maybe but the Peloton feature - does it dip the lights if a car is on your arse too? That would be less useful.
I too had thought of this. And it sounds like i need to test it. Stand by....

My bigger concern than the shape of the seatpost. Yours will be flat at the back, presumably to produce the same results as an aero tube 3x as long - camtail or whatever it's called, like the Trek and Cervelos used (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kammback and https://www.trekbikes.com/gb/en_GB/inside_trek/kammtail_virtual_foil/).
