I'll just insert myself here as I did my self-assessment yesterday and it produced a £50k tax bill for me.
And only this morning did I think... wait, that can't be right, £50k is a lot of money and maybe I got something wrong.
It turns out I entered the numbers from the year prior and I am an idiot. The correct numbers lead to a nice refund rather than a shocking tax bill.
The golfing thing to do would be to boast about the size of the refund. We need cash values.
