Chater Lea crankset has a kind of steampunk look
In the sense that they've deliberately made it look more old-fashioned than a real one?

Probably heavy AF
But not as heavy as OG; that↑ 44T ring is 234g

Although I hate to disappoint, but the one with the brass bits felt a bit much, so I've gone for the plain silver one.
That is very smart. If you ever change your mind, I see the brass finish parts can be be had for £128!

A snip! Will probably order a set just to swap them out for special occasions.

the sweep goes the wrong way
Not those beautiful leaves cutting through the wind?

Look at your brake rotors - the spokes are pushing for sound engineering reasons. Pulling spokes are trying to collapse the rim, which means buckling when it's a thin disc of material. Pushing spokes are trying to expand the rim, and you can't buckle something if it's in tension.

Left hand drive 🤩

Every track crank is lefthand drive if you try hard enough.

I’d rather mount a bike from the kerb side, and I’d rather slain a bike from the non-drive side (no oil on my Margaret Howell pegs thanks), so right-side drive only really makes sense in left-side-of-the-road countries.
Forrins take note: you’re getting it wrong (except whoever’s fitted natty affinitys on the left). So that pattern has a bit of Sugino and a bit of Suntour Superbe, not a bad look.

FWIW I’m with Tester on those Chater Lea monstrosities. WHAIIIYYYY

This is the beautiful crankset thread not the functional one, I think the pretty leaves flow, visually.

Somehow never came across this thread.
I'd think it has to be a pair of stronglights.

stronglight
Which ones? They have made dozens of very different designs.

Stronglight 93 are my favourite:

I dunno honestly I was being a bit simplistic....
there are so many good looking cranksets. Honestly I always was partial to the sugino mighty tour arms. I likes the angular appearance.
I also always likes the csd44 stronglight doubles with the machines out 5-bolr spider. This sort:

Almost forgot TA specialite carmina or whatever. Some of those are great

The start of the compact.

The start of the compact
Yeah, because nobody had ever done a 110mm PCD 5-bolt road double before that 😉

no ones mentioned white industries! a proud moment for the forum, even if i do like them.
-

At least two people have posted white industries cranks. First one got told that they look like shit 90's bmx cranks.

this has to be a contender:

this isn't exactly a slam dunk, but i've always liked them. a mothers eye, etc

Questionable graphics, but one of the more slender, elegant arms made, i think:

Probably heavy AF but love these.
