  • Oliver, I did notice that bit. I think I need to resize the pics if I'm to upload them directly. I've got some software which does that, so I just need to get round to it.

    In the meantime we could have another clue. The victim of the shooting didn't die until 2011. The bullet put her in a wheelchair for 26 years. She was shot by a detective inspector who was acquitted of GBH. The Met didn't admit liability but gave her half a million pounds. The commissioner finally apologised in 2014. The shooting prompted a review of the Met's use of firearms. Firearms officers were given more training and were deployed in centrally controlled specialist units. Local officers lost their access to guns.
