Cheers, I suspected that was the case. I don't really do enough to justify shaving the beard off or a full face mask. Will have to ponder

A beard prevents a good seal on the face which renders the mark useless as the air will just flow through the gaps rather than the filter as it’s a path of much lower air resistance. I have to shave mine off before doing any dusty work for this reason.
If you can’t shave your beard off you’ll want to get a full face thing. Couple people I’ve worked with had this style and seemed to rate them.
