Rockwool, normally for lofts but work well underneath, should be breathable.
We benefit more because we live in a terraced house so we don’t need both wall to be insulated (fortunately, don’t want to make the flat any smaller).
Did they just put the floorboards back on top or was there another thin layer?
Floorboards just go back on once the insulation has been fitted in between the joists. If its gaps your concerned about and you want to keep the bare floorboards then either replace boards or get slivers to fill the gaps
