  • This amendment to waive the corruption judgement against Owen Paterson (dressed up as something else in the emperor's new clothes) isn't even a surprise. Nor is the whipping of Tory MPs to support it. The judgement wasn't even vaguely marginal - 'egregious case of paid advocacy', I believe was the description...

    Oh for an effective opposition and some media who would call it what it is.

  • If it makes you feel "better" about it, the Australian government is hoping to close the Independent Commission Against Corruption in favour of a new body which is under the control of the government and isn't really going to be allowed to investigate politicians, only law-enforcement.

  • A new low even for this shower of cunts.
    Of the 59 mps who have put their name to the amendment, 6 have had allegations against them upheld by the standards committee and they earn £1m between them for lobbying.
