Yes to that! The very late 70s early 80s Sony before they went to the mad electronically suspended tone arm (insert mad 80s sounding name) were beautiful, and really solid feeling. And that dark metallic brown grey vibe going on.
Doesn't the 6750 have a football type mat on it? One of them has like an "air suspension" matt
