frameset alone is worth £70 anyday.
A lot of the weight is probably in the seatpost, them sprung ones weigh a ton. If you want to switch to modern brakes Ill have them off you.

I've got this one.....
It's a road path frame ( I know the saddle is way out here, it's right now)..... I love it. 531, nervex legere lugs, Miche primato hubs and campag omega rims, rolls, sugino super mighty cranks with old Japanese pistachio drops.
He is still around, and is an Edinburgh based fella......google him, you can email the shop. It's not called that any more though.....'tracks' maybe? -

That stem as well. It always amazes me how heavy some quills are.
With new pads and a bit of playing, you should be able to get the brakes to work properly. But obvs some modern ones are less hassle.

Had a bit of a search around the web and discovered that Robin Williamson owns Biketrax in Bruntsfield. Doesn't seem to be selling his own brand anymore though. At least I didn't see any when I was there a couple of weeks ago.
Will get back to you on the brakes DFP. Have not decided what I'm doing with them yet. I did get around to switching out the stem and bars though. Looking much prettier now.

I have a lovely silver Robin Williamson Tourer, 531, I used as a teen to cycle all over Europe with my parents. Cracking Bike and still hanging safely in the garage. I got it out and used it last Summer during the 1st lockdown (2020) for a change from my daily road bike. Fabulous frames, although mine was very large and it shocks me how much flex there is in it compared with modern bikes. I bought the bike new from Robin's shop in Edinburgh, when I was 17.
Just picked up this Robin Williamson 21 speed. Fixing it up for a friend. Lovely 531 frame and forks. Set of Mavic 36h A719s built onto Shimano 105s (dear lord so heavy.)
Anyone heard of this brand before? I think it's a local builder. There was also a Claud Butler (1970s I think) complete bike for £50 but it really needed a lot of TLC as well as a new wheelset.
So far I've taken off the fenders, rear rack, stem and saddle post. Searching for some brake levers, drop bars, saddle post and saddle.
Got to move the shifters up to the stem as my friend's not happy with having to reach down to shift. I told her I'd try but not to blame me if it turned out be a total wreck :P
