They actually all look shite. Screw the middle class dream of 'tastefully restoring' an Edwardian house.

I agree, hate living in 200 year old house. Wish I could buy the same but a modern build.

A lot of it is paying for the neglect and bad practices inflicted by feckless owners and equally feckless cowboy trades. The houses are actually pretty good, if not without their problems.

The fireplace / chimney breast chat set me off. Plus the horror of looking at another Edwardian dump the owners want the better part of a mil for this morning.

No just putting a cap on. Can be removing the chimney pot (the clay cylinder on top) but not the whole chimney (brick stack)
