I'll just chime in here and say:

1. I know Jon personally, and can vouch for him with full confidence. He's an honest, gentlemanly gent. He can also climb really, really fast
   
2. I feel if anything Jon is underselling this and being overly cautious on the part of the buyer. A prime example being that he's recommending a scan, despite having ridden 5000km on it as it is - and suggesting that a buyer can make offers accounting for/factoring in, this cost.
   
3. He was completely honest in his first post that he doesn't know how to price it. He is opening himself up to all manner of lowball offers which to my mind at least, is quite the opposite of being evasive or 'cagey'.
   
4. No-one is being forced to buy or even inquire into, the bike
