Hand Drawn Pinarello Galileo circa 2003

  • I've painstakingly hand drawn on an old Pinarello Lens aluminium frame. I thought you guys might enjoy having a look at it.

The background is that this was/is my dream bike. I had a really bad crash on a fast downhill going way too fast into a corner and totaled the bike. The only thing that survived was the frame. To turn a positive into a negative I decided to draw on it. This is still my current bike and I've ridden more than 11000km's on it this year. This bike rules!

  • That's pretty awesome. Full build is good but let down by the silly plastic saddle

  • The silly plastic saddle is actually super comfy! I've actually changed if for another plastic saddle with a black and white pattern.

  • Iā€™m really digging that! I especially like the Buddha warrior on your Instagram.

  • Why all the hate for Tioga Spyders? They're light, comfy and not super expensive.

Is it because of the cheap knockoffs, or the fact they suck in the wet?

    Bike looks great, btw

  • Thanks for all the nice comments.

The buddha warrior was the only thing on the bike that I planned for. I really wanted it on the top tube dead centre so that I could see it and rub it for good luck.

To be fair I get the hate for the Tyoga Spyders.. I didn't have a bike when I was drawing on this one so a friend lent me his triathlon bike with the Spyder saddle (imagine that?!?) I wanted to change it to my fizik arione and he begged me to try it. I did, I loved it and I'm never buying a different saddle again! Keep in mind that I ride long distances too and I've had zero problems with it.

  • Oh yes, love that!

  • What pen do you use? Do you gloss it then to keep it waterproof?

  • I just used a permanent marker with two different tips. A friend of mine works in a garage spraying cars and he put a really thick layer of lacquer to protect it. Came out looking like glass!

  • Amazing work šŸ™Œ

  • that's great.

  • The cable housing is a great touch

  • The friend who helped me put the bike together found it for me on some random Spanish website... Super nice!

  • Just wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments.

I've been a lifetime lurker here and was a London cycle messenger for 20 years so I feel a real connection to the LFGSS community.
