That’s an unfortunate effect of the manufacturing process. Does it really trap that much?
I’d probably grind a fair bit coarser than V60 to take into account the larger holes in the mesh, then try to pour slower than you would with a V60 to manually slow the flow and make sure what you pour hits the bed of coffee and doesn’t just run out the sides. You probably get quite an honest tasting brew with that thing.
Yeah its shit, traps loads of water and slows the brew time down significantly while the metal mesh let's through a lot of fines. Much better with holes drilled through and a paper filter
