For sale: Dawes Hardware 16" 26er 4130 Cr-Mo mountain bike. I bought this from an eBay seller who had owned it since new (approximately 1994 from what I can tell from the Dawes catalogue archives?) 18 speed, cantilever brakes, thumb shifters all in good working order. Looking for £50, collection from Brockley, SE London. Any other questions please feel free to ask!
A project designed for my partner but it's worked out to be a little too small. Would say that it would suit anyone from 5' to 5'6". Top tube measurement centre to centre is 56.5 cm (so around 22 inches). From what I can tell it has been stored in a garage for the last 25 years, all parts look original, and the previous seller informed me that it had had new cables and a once over from a bike shop in the last year or so. Here's a nice bit of spiel from the 1994 Dawes catalogue:
"One of the lightest bikes in its class, Hardware's spec is as well-balanced as its ride, offering a host of advanced Shimano functions at an entry-level price. The shifting performance is light and precise, and the M-System brakes deliver dependable stopping power whatever the weather conditions - features designed to put you, the rider, in complete control when the going gets tough."
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
