What about the sick van to cart all the bikes in?

It's also quite fun dropping all your 170mm+ enduro-biked mates on every climb on a much shorter travel bike, but only be a second or two slower than them on the descents

Anybody want a pair of Shimano ME7 shoes in 46.
Bought off eBay last week as I wanted to try clipless on the hardtail. Used them once and realised I’m definitely staying with them only to get a pair of NorthWave Enduro shoes at an absurdly low price.
They’re used and have heal rub off the crank arm on the R/H shoe. The dial up lace and the ratchet still work just fine. Great pair of shoes with plenty of life left in them.
Cleats not included
£50 + fees & postage

Ah ok these will be too small for me. Checked my own Shimano shoes and they are a 47e

Abandoned ship for the evening.. The internals can wait for tomorrow. It took a lot of banging to get the lower legs off. I think they were almost seized!

I know somebody who might buy them off you :-D

Bit of wet and dry and finally I could own an arrospok?

Sound advice, but I have access to a new cycle to work scheme without a £££ limit, and have a few reasons to celebrate after a shitty year and a half so I’m staring down the barrel of the moneygun with my finger on the trigger.
I have a hardtail (albeit an obsolete creaking 26er) so I want to scratch that full bounce itch.

What's the shortlist looking like?

Cracking morning at swinley with the youngest yesterday. Lovely cool dry weather and pretty quiet once out a ways. My old skool 26" wheels look quite out of place these days - but, hey...chuckable, right?

As others have said, short travel trail bikes are so capable and easy to ride now. If the budget stretches, Cotic Flaremax is lovely - I want to trade my Solarismax (hardtail) in for one.
Slightly less cash - the Bird Aether9 looks nice, as does the Saracen Ariel 30. A mate has just grabbed a barely used second hand one for hooning around in the N Downs. Looks like they have a small amount of new stock knocking about if you need a size large.

A lightweight full sus trail bike with 130 upfront would be my shout. You can ride so much on it and locked out it moves well. Really if I could have one mtb it would be that. I prefer a head angle around 67, as I ride distance.
That said, I love my hardtail. -

To add an opposing view I'd pick the Jeht - it's that bit more capable, and I doubt that it's much slower than the Flaremax going up, but will be able to help you go faster more securely on the downs.
The Flaremax is (as the Cotic site states) more of a downcountry bike than a trail bike.
I'd be aiming at 140 rear/150 front (which is almost what my bike is, and I suspect most are going to recommend what they know).
300mm travel hardtail?
