I kind of like it tbh.

Cheap enough, discs, decent tyre clearance. Didn't need all the mounts though.

it's seven hundred pounds @ rrp

to be honest I quite like the concept - an SS with discs and 40mm+ tyre clearance ought to be bags of fun, done properly. Just not this one.

There's that omnium cxc bike with similar specs that looks nicer. Steel though and can't order in the UK and probably more expensive.

I think an old day one would also fit the spec. I kind of like that this one is aluminium though, must be pretty light.
