Why these two? They're not really in the same league - right? Well, based on U.S. pricing anyway.

I’ve heard / like the sound of both of them and they are a similar size (the biggest I can get away with). Plus only £200 between them.

Ah, fair. $700 difference where I live. Klipsch are only $699 per speaker.

I would agree that they're not exactly the nicest looking speakers out there. Nothing used at that price range that is significantly nicer?
