I went metal over plastic. Feels nice. More solid. Holds heat better maybe. Maybe a bit more slippy than plastic.

No. It doesn't - physics and that.
A good (pricier) acrylic bath will be as pretty much solid as a metal one (cheaper ones do have that wobbly plastic feel) but really it's down to aesthetics. We've an OG 60's yellow iron/steel one, a modern boxed in acrylic one and a fancy copper one. All do what baths do TBH.

Yeah the feel thing gets me and I do like a nice bath, you can get a anti slip coating. But as mentioned before have had a metal bath 'ping' and was refunded.
