So I ended up with the Dali IO-4 headphones. Even in non pandemic times I flew once every year or two, about as often on a train and virtually never took the phones outdoors (I like to be as aware of my surroundings as possible).
Thus the lack of requirement for ANC. These are definitely not bass-head phones, and many complain that they seriously lack in that area. We’ll see, but obviously some adjustments can be made and I don’t listen to super bass heavy stuff anyway. Nicely built and comfortable (though I will be experimenting with the ear pads) and astonishingly long battery life.
