The strapdeck might work with some adhesive or something on a tapered fork leg. I've had one on the downtube for a year with four very big zipties.
That bag is pretty cool. Looking at this, Hippy's beer belly would have been a good name too.

Ah, that would've been a good name. I first suggested 'gooch' because of where the bag goes but we moved to "down under" because it was more PG-rated for her site.
I need to do some test packing - because it's possible I'll need to move to using a rack anyway to carry the new (and much bigger) tent. So if I end up moving to rack + pannier (mmm paneer) then I'll just through everything in those and wheelie everywhere :)

Yeah, that's what I was think of. I've got my tent poles on the downtube already but yeah the widget itself could be strapped around the fork leg I guess and hold the cook kit. If I get one of these skinny Vargo "Bots" it might even fit in my Tangle framebag, and then I don't need it hanging off the forks at all.
The bigger tent we just got has shorter poles (but more sections) so it's possible there will be room in my https://www.beerbabe.co.uk/ourshop/prod_7657067-Hippy-Down-Under-Pack.html to fit some cook gear in there.
