I haven't commuted for years by bike. What's good in 700 * 30-32c?
Durano? -

Presume that’s the hookless max rather than hooked? The Zipp hookless rims are 72psi max for any tyre

Is there a tan wall version?
-
• #8807
Yeah
Higher for the smaller tyres. (but who uses those now?)

No

Can someone recommend a 650b x 42(ish) slick tyre that’s good in the wet?
Cheaper end of the spectrum as it’s for the commuter/dad bike.
I’m using gravel kings right now and they’re terrible in the wet.

Has anyone had any experience with WTB Thick Slicks. Really like the look of them but should I stick to Gator Skins. I need a strong tyre 700 x 25 as for some reason smashing glass on the cycle track seems a popular pass time in this town. Used Gator Skins with some success but I want a change.

If you want to stick around here you’ll avoid Thick Slicks ; )

Speccy turbo ‘hell of the north’ edition are shite.
Sidewall slash two minutes from my front door on ride number three. Figured it was a fluke And replaced with a new tyre. Two punctures on ride number two today, under 100k covered.
This is after riding Veloflex masters for years with not one puncture. Will be going back.

WTB Exposure VS Panaracer Gravelkings? I like how the GKs roll but unimpressed about how many deeps cuts I'm getting in them. Are the exposures any better? This is for 28/30mm - mostly on road with light off road and gravel.

Done a good few hundred miles on 36mm exposures, one of them did randomly seem to be losing pressure slowly but I refilled with sealant and it's fine now.
They roll well in my opinion and they still seem in good condition after a while commuting through London. I haven't actually tried GKs tubeless so can't comment on comparison.

WTB is a lot more durable, but not as fast. Not great levels of grip in the wet.

Thanks, I’ll check them out.

Gumwall 25c tyres suitable for autumn and winter fast rides? GP5000 with the brown side? Schwalbe One? Always ridden clincher but open to tubeless too - three punctures today in the Lakes makes me think my Schwalbe Ones are fair to replace.
Please don’t say gumwalls aren’t for winter

GP5K in brown are good and easy to clean up, unlike real cotton tires

Been enjoying my Goodyear Eagle sport tyres - 25mm gumwalls for £20 each. They have really good grip and roll pretty well. A little heavier (250g) but it's winter so who cares.

I'd read reviews that the sidewalls are very flimsy? They were my first thought otherwise!

Cheers, I'll look up online

Had gp5000 brown side last winter. All damn good as every conti for winter I have :)

Great - I just bought a set!

Any thoughts on G One Ultrabite or Cinturato M (700 x 45) for winter gravelling?
Also anyone out there with a Mason Bokeh with experience of real world maximum tyre options?
Saw that talked about in https://cyclingtips.com/2021/09/spotted-continental-has-a-new-tubeless-gp5000-and-its-everywhere-at-roubaix/
72psi max
