Are they stopping the Bristol-Salisbury service too? Or is it just the direct Bristol-Waterloo service?

They are temporarily stopping the Bristol Salisbury route. Which sucks because you can get to Salisbury then ride #nogravel all the way back (ish)

Any source on that? If they are stopping that route then using the mainline via Reading is the only way to London.
