    For the golfing style mavens: brokendaddy gets his clothes from M&S, won't wear jeans at all ("workwear!") and the nearest he gets to a visible brand is a jumper with his club's crest on ("Why would I pay to advertise a designer? They should pay me!")

  • Your dad sounds like almost every committee member of every rugby club I ever played for, the sort of men who would never appear unshaven at breakfast. They were always pretty decent and good for a round for the players, win or lose. I once heard one refer to the new members of their golf club as 'wideboys and spivs', hard to argue with this summary of the average golferist.
