I still haven't quite figured out who or what Tynan is.
Tynan is a who and a what.
-
• #23803
Are we talking Tynan or tynan here? Because there is a difference.

Why is the business secretary telling us 'Further Covid restrictions in England not needed ‘for now’ ' would that be better coming from the health secretary?
-
• #23806
Because Economy > Health
apparently

• #23807
Because he was the one doing the media rounds this morning

Do we have a health secretary ? I though he was just like a second chancellor.

Only very old and sick die of COVID if vaccinated, Italian study shows
Study does not show this.
-
• #23810
It does, if you are a basically a Nazi. But with added hatred of people with in the same national borders as you but not the ones.
-
• #23811
So shall I go get my third vaccine today? I'll be near the really expensive student housing in Edmonton, which is an anathema to me.

• #23812
… if you are a basically a Nazi.
The fuck dude?

Quote the whole post.
At a guess you are not informed about the situation in Italy nor what lega lombarda/lega Nord political lean is. Hint is - to the right of the Nazi party.

Clearly not, maybe let us in this instead of being condescending?

I stopped reading the article because it was clear within a few lines that the headline was bullshit. The study quoted (now edited out) found that the average age of people dying was 85 (or whatever age it was, can't check because it's been edited) which should make it obvious that somewhere around half of the people studied were less than 85. You don't have to be a genuis to imagine a situation where a healthy 30 year old can die from Covid, and be included in the stats. Therefore the headline "Only very old and sick..." is complete nonsense.

So what are we over-50s doing? Are we waiting for contact, or booking right now? I don't really mix with other people much (sad), and don't want to take the place of those more deserving.
edit: ignore all that ^ scrawl. My second prick was in June, so my booster won't be for a while.

• #23819
Once you reach 6 months and a week from your second jab you should have been contacted but if not you can book at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/book-or-manage-a-booster-dose-of-the-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine/

Yes, thanks. I'll wait until the new year, if I make it that far, and book, if not already beckoned.
-
• #23821
Not a pop at you, just a general anger at a large number the Italian anti Vax people even some of my family.
-
• #23822
6 months on.
Didn't get 3rd jabbed today as my 2nd Vax date is bang on 6 months but computer input date of my details was a 2 days later so two days time when I can be vaxxed.

Don't think that is condescension, it was not intended as such.
Just not happy with your selective quoting of my posts.
-
• #23824
You always tend to be condescensing, and don’t throw comment like that around without repercussion leaving some people to go “wtf is that”.

A negative test is accepted in Italy but since tests are not free and it's a hassle, people are now choosing to get vaccinated.
The vaccination mandate in England means carehomes lose even more staff (lack of payrises already means people moving to other roles) so it's a tricky balance...
Now nightclubs in Northern Ireland can reopen and vaccine checks are not mandatory...have to see how that goes.
