Hmm, they would probably be better than the single flap of plastic style guards in terms of protection, the downside might be ease of installation and removal. I guess there's got to be a compromise somewhere.

After the intial setting up (about 5 mins of adjusting) they take about 30 seconds to install/remove each time. It's just a rubber strap to stretch around the fork legs and seatstays.
I use to have an ass saver/mus guard on my work bike, but found them useless and bought a pair of Raceblade Xl's and never looked back. Been using the same ones for 4/5 years now.

I would spend abit more and get a pair of Raceblade Pro XL. The flaps slightly short but easy to DIY some longer ones.
