Well just because TIG is an easy an solid way to join two tubes (with a sleeve). I just brass because I wanted to use the capillary action to join new seat tuba and old seat tube. The old seat tube is very thin wall and where I am joining the two is likely in the middle of a butt and I didn't fancy my chances tigging that
