yes - current thinking is to just copy the first image I posted:
top will be a wardrobe with hanging (it would have to be a front-to-back telescopic rail due to depth issues) + open shelving at the bottom
bottom of alcove will be a two drawer bedside table.
there's some issues to work around though (principally to do with space): (i) depth of alcove is a constraint; and, (ii) width of bed is a constraint (i.e. it is slightly wider than the chimney breast) and so any cabinetry has to be designed to not foul the bed
Could you be clever and have the top half for hanging stuff then and open shelf and low half (or 1/3) for drawers? That would totally work if your walls can take the floating top part.
