  • Gonna spend a bit of time this eve scouring the web for info.

  • You could do worse than call a Nissan dealers parts department with the number plate of the car you want to buy- if they’re not busy and a decent sort they may have a look at what they can and can’t get for you

  • I've seen a Skoda Yeti I quite fancy, problem is it's a dealer in Peterborough and I'm in Edinburgh. I've never purchased a vehicle sight unseen before, has anyone ever done this?

I suppose HPI checks etc worth paying for?

  • I have bought sight unseen but from main dealers only, with a written-down "return within 7 days no question asked" policy. Dodgy "street corner" type operation then no way

  • They're not a main dealer, just a local dealership

  • Yeah I was just looking at that. Ta

  • Love the look of these. I'd want to know more about what 'restoration' work has been done to the underside given the many previous corrosion related failures/advisories on the MOT history. Has it been properly addressed or just some rough 'MOT fix' welding that's been sprayed over with underseal to hide any horrors?

  • The state of the sills makes me suspect the later.

  • repairs in most recent MOT seem pretty extensive TBH -

"Please see the notes below as written on the invoice by the restoration workshop as undertaken early 2021.

    Attend to repairs for MOT
Cut out affected metal on O/S and N/S rear chassis cross beams.
Above fuel tank, make up and weld in repair panels as required.
Attend to corroded main O/S chassis rail, cut out affected metal in sections to minimise distortion.
Make up heavy gauge metal as required.
Fabricate new O/S/R trailing arm mounting and bracket and anti roll bar bracket.
    Weld all new panels.
Repair corrosion in O/S inner seal.
Finish all repairs with seam sealer and black stone chip.

Works for this underbody work totalled £2,355 by a well trusted and long used garage."

  • I’m in Peterborough and wouldn’t turn down a trip to Edinburgh

  • I bet those seats are comfy.

    Heated?
    Roof down?
    In winter

  • If I'd just spent the best part of £2.5k on "underbody has been partially restored" I'd be a bit disappointed that my sills looked like this

  • (I'm half trying to convince myself not to bid on this)

  • Ah! Do you know Fenlake Car Sales?!

  • Haha….. don’t bid on it. It’s terrible.

  • Fenlake, or fengate?

  • It’s comfy as hell. I don’t think the seats are heated unfortunately as there’s a blanking plate on the switch panel where the control for it should be. Shame as the seat adjustment is powered...
It seems a bit of a mish mash of mid range interior spec.
The heaters are fucking bril tho. I did do the final couple of miles to work with the top down this morning despite the freezing fog and was pretty cosy.

  • I have a pair of those! Hahaha

  • Enjoy! V sad to see it gone but better it be used than sat

  • I have to say (I don't but hey) Compared to what was out there at the time same time it was better than the land rover and bigger than a range rover.

  • There is quite a big following for this era Patrol, they are very capable offroad

  • All the patrols round here have "LandCruiser recovery vehicle" stickers on them
