  • Selling this cannondale that I just bought as its on the bigger size of Medium, I'm 178cm and it feels a bit too long for me with a 55cm top tube.
Since I bought it I've done 83km to try and testfit it but still getting a strong lower back pain and feels like it has to do with the long reach to the bars.

    As the previous seller mentioned:
"I would say the overall condition of the bike is very good.
Cosmetically there are few paintwork chips where the disc has fouled the inside of the rear chainstay and generally most blemishes are confined to the chainstay area."

  • Sorry to piss on your chips, but you bought it for £920 2 1/2 weeks ago and want to make an instant £130 profit?

  • I've got one of these and they do seem to come up large. I'm 178cm with long legs and after swapping out the layback post for an in-line and a 100mm stem it fits me perfectly now. Have you tried running it shorter? I've fully pimped mine now and it's one of my favourite bikes.

  • TBF he might of paid £30 for shipping, so he's looking to turn a £100 profit.

  • I've also paid shipping costs which are not included in the bidding price plus waiting on a cable for the brakes which was twisted when it arrived, works fine but wont sell with a twisted brake cable (+ bike shop fees for this work)
    So im actually losing money

  • Have put a 60mm stem currently and still feels long, have short hands unfortunately :(

  • Which bike shop charged you £100 plus to install a brake cable?

  • Alrighty, here ya go:
    £40 for bikeshop fees
    £40 for the hose
And i've put on a 60mm stem and another seatpost that I'll include with the sale (for free obv)
    £30 for shipping costs
And £20 for my pain to deal with guys like you who dont read the whole comment
If a £20 markup is against the forum rules then ill happily take down the ad

  • Shame its still too long still. I must have long arms. Great frames these really comfy and less restrictive for wheels like the later version.

  • I really enjoyed the ride quality but if the 60mm and the inline seatpost cant solve the stretching issue then I think its time to pass this to someone else unfortunately. I wish the tt on this was 53-54

  • Gotta love ads like this. :-)

  • let me kno your thoughts :-)

  • I am with you Alex.

  • Did you go searching for that link? 😂

  • It’s a very fair point - this isn’t eBay.

If you want to make your money back, and make a profit, go sell it back on eBay.

As unfortunate as it is that A) it doesn’t fit you and B) that bike shop had your eyes out; the way this forum works (or at least used to until every Tom Dick and Twat now seems to be trying to milk the current bike desperation situation) is that you see the eBay price and then you knock a chunk off.

    Because this isn’t eBay.

Also, if you chose to pay postage costs then why are you adding that on to the value of an item? - paying to have it delivered doesn’t increase its value.

  • "short hands"

  • I reckon you could lose a few cm of reach by finding some shorter reach bars and placing the shifter hoods a touch higher

  • I see your concerns and I'm now removing the ad from the forum.

Initial thoughts were that I prefer this bike goes to a forum member as from months of searching there is no carbon cyclocross frame on the market with hydro brakes for less than £1300.

So for someone interested in such bike it would actually be a good deal compared to market as well as the LFGSS prices i've seen since last winter.
