That’s basically my dream daily ride. Nice!

That is remarkable. My gf had one single puncture on GP 4S due to a heavily overloaded rear rack (groceries) and low tire pressure on a bumpy path. Other than that ive had zero problems with them and run them on several bikes for many thousand kms all year round on road, gravel and some trails. they shouldn't have survived some of this, but they did.
wet grip is the best out of any road tires i've had.
hm, maybe i've been lucky or there are bad batches of them? -

I might have just had a bad batch, or been unlucky. It was the best part of ten years ago, so maybe they’ve changed since. Everyone raves about them, that’s why I was so surprised.

Yeah, seems quite strange. Granted they don’t roll as good as a race day tyre, but the puncture protection is amazing. I’ve probably done 12,000 miles on them (different tyres of course) and doubt I’ve had more than a handful of punctures.

Not fixed, it has a freehub. Back brake hidden under the chainstays may have led you astray

I was led astray, such was my haste to boot this out of hhsrb

What’s the road fixed version of the dolan precursa I used to ride that can also run 35mm tyres?
Like a dolan in the sense of;
Cheapish
Lightish
Stiffish
Not steel
SimpleGuard mounts would be fab

Possibly the Dolan FXE? Not sure on the max tyre size but it ticks the rest of the boxes. I think they say 25 is the biggest you can go with guards, I’ve got 28 on mine and think I could squeeze guards on depending on which ones and there’s room on the front and back for bigger tyres without the guards I reckon.

YeH did look at that, anything under 32mm is just tiny and the Somerset roads don’t cater well for skinny!
-
• #1789
Just get another precursa and put a steamroller or canti/v cross fork
-
• #1790
Why lump a heavy fork on and still have small clearance on the back?
-
• #1791
Fork for clearance and the frame does the rest -
• #1792
ooh! whats that tyre size on the rear?
-
• #1793
35c :)
It also took a wtb crossboss for a while but that resulted in a bit of mud rub on the stays -
• #1794
OH! now that makes it a very different bike.lovely. thanking you.

Does it need to be drops? Some big upgrades like a Enve stem/mount, whisky forks, Paul Klamper brake, carbon rails, deda carbon bullhorns and a dura ace brake. Just need to get a Paul rear hub, Son front and some carbon rims.

Yes
Shame there is no "like" button as I would have used it!
