  • For sale is a nice original Emperor Sports frame in a pleasant shade of red. I believe it dates from the 1980's or early 90's with a frame number on the underneath of the BB as EMP 1994. Earlier examples were dated year wise from the first two digits.

Much has been written about this marque which I won't further bore readers with but were good quality frames built by Mick Coward in Sutton.

Vital statistics are: rear dropout 128 mm, front 98mm and the frame size is 22.5" seat post and ditto top tube. There are down tube braze ons for Campagnolo shifters and Campag rear dropouts for a rear derailleur. Overall the frame is in good condition though at some point the top tube has in parts been retouched in red paint as have a few smaller areas, a good clean and wipe down would go a long way. The decals are in good condition bar the nearside down tube example which is worn - replacements are readily available from lloyds Decals. I can only upload one picture at a time so if you want anymore please ask. Bargain price of £90 with collection from RG6 close to Earley Railway Station on the Waterloo - Reading line. This could provide the basis for a decent project and make a very attractive lightweight racer.
