  • Did you put anything under the tub to support it when it is full?

    Excellent tiling by the way.

  • Splendid.

Did she do any pre-quote advice? Or did you go in with a fairly well-developed scheme?

I'd be happy to develop my own outline scheme but I'm quite literally asking for a friend. (And I can't do their scheme for them, for many reasons including not being an architect and not having any insurance, but most importantly the first rule of "don't work for friends or family" :)

  • Is this Forbo?

  • It's a LOT of angles.
Might be Forbo but unless someone on here (likley) is the owner or architect or designer then you can't tell from a pic like that.

  • dm me your email address and i'll forward on what she sent

  • That’s dead nice and not seen it before…

  • Mount View Pink tiles appear to be one of their things.

  • Yeah it’s Archmongers - there’s some bits I really like and some which I really don’t. But for flooring inspo it’s making me errr towards Forbo

  • Thanks. It's supported on a wooden frame, plus the metal legs you can see. I filled it before sealing round the bottom row of tiles to allow for slight movement.

  • Quick question for people on here, our house already has an extension built (Just under 3m, so PD) but when they did it it was done quite cheaply, they left the old external wall (Just removing door and window) and the ceiling is quite low.

We'd like to knock down the external wall to open up the space (replacing with steel frame) and re-do the roof of the extension/new external wall for more glass etc ... and while we're at it redo the downstairs bathroom.

For something like this would you say it's better going down the architect route or all round builder?

  • Ahhhhhh them! I didn’t recognise it from that pic, always a fan of pink.

  • Structural engineer, but I’d imagine it’ll be a bit of a dead end as folks don’t like to mess with other peoples work, especially if a bit sub par.

  • Defo do it.
No idea why I decided against it at the last min, had wanted a blue rubber floor for ages. Maybe just chickened out.

  • anyone used lusso stone taps/hardware before?

  • Yep. Have some in the kitchen. They are ok, but I’d recommend checking out Arte Forme, only a little more and their unfinished brass is dead nice and less west london.

Toilet flush plates are great as they are actually metal unlike most.

  • Structural engineer for the steel calcs and all rounder building.
    Online calcs do exist

  • Yeah that's what I thought too, friend of mine is structural engineer so could come round and help.

And then I can use this thread for the this vs that decision :)

  • valuable comments both thanks @cozey and @chrisbmx116

  • What is the source for this photo? edit - found it - thanks.

  • No wozza. If you do go Arte Forme EC1 bathrooms offer a 20% discount.

  • We’re having a bath installed today

  • Yeah sorry I didn’t link to it. I just noticed that Instagram now lets you create ‘guides’ from your saved collections. I might do this or just continue to add them to Pinterest bc fuck Facebook

  • If you email the architects they might tell you whether it is Forbo
