SOLD – F/S Genesis Volare 931 Frameset – VGC

Parting ways with this absolute beauty as it sits in between the use of my two other bikes so doesn't get the use it deserves.

Medium Frame – Geometry hasn't changed so here's the current sizing chart

A few odd stone scratches but the frameset is in very good condition. Minor paint scuffs on the front dropouts. I've owned since new from 2017 and it's been regularly cleaned/serviced.

Frame is di2 or mechanical – The shifter cable stops will be placed back on for sale.

    £850 O.N.O (exc. seatpost/stem)
Pickup from South East London SE21 – Open to shipping if price is met.

  • nice bike, some sort of Pro Tharsis cable hiding going on?

  • Good spot! They're pro vibe bars and the cabling on these frames is super tidy.

  • Adding to the mix here – I can add in a mechanical Ultegra groupset (R8000) to the frameset too – £+450

Will only sell with the frameset.

  • What wheels are they?!

  • I love these. So much nicer than a carbon bike. GLWS

  • Look like DT Swiss Dicut Oxic 21s to me

  • slightly OT... but are those oxic 21s any good ? I was thinking about buying a set as an upgrade for my own volare 953

  • On the Oxics - I have the 32mm ones. They are lovely wheels but the black coating is pretty fragile. Large amounts of mine came off on one wet descent in the Peak District. If you are after black alloy wheels for rim brakes, I strongly recommend the Hed Ardennes Black. They have a kind of ribbed finish on the rim and seem much more durable. I suspect it is because even if you do have something that rubs the surface, it only rubs the raised part of the ribbing, so the effect is not so visible.

  • but it still wears out on the Heds. a friend has them, deeper carbon-faired ones with the same sidewall, and it does wear

  • It does wear but in my case, it has worn very gently (barely noticeably) whereas with the Oxics there are large swathes of the black coating completely rubbed off. My experience with wear on the HEDs has been 100% better than with the Oxics, so much so that I really hammer them whereas I babied the Oxics, checking the pads before every ride, etc etc. I guess different people will have different experience!

  • Price drop: £950

  • Can I ask what camera you used to take the photos, they look great. (Free bump)

  • my guess is a fujifilm (eterna profile)

  • Good shout @coffeekeyboard! It is indeed a Fuji (XT20), with some Lightroom tweaks.

  • Price drop £925

  • Still going?

  • Still going! Price drop to £900 – need this shifted!

  • Price drop £875

All now stripped and ready to go.

  • This sales thread was a major source of inspiration for me getting a Volare 931. Lovely frame, GLWS!

  • Thanks Gideon! I really don't want to let it go but it just doesn't get the use it used to.

    BUMP – £850

  • This is exactly what I’m looking for. But cost to post to Ireland post-Brexit far too high. I really should stop looking on here. Last 4 frames all got from here. Pity.
Have a bump for gorgeous frameset

  • Moved to eBay for now.
