Yeah if they're willing to budge, I'm interested. Cheers!

The Giant was sold overnight so it's clearly a sign from the heavens - I'm picking up the Diamond Back tomorrow afternoon. I'm still not 100% sure which model it is though; could be apex, ascent, axis. It's got similar paint to the one I posted before, but has 'grip shift' logos on the top tube.

One solution would be to sell me a pair of 26" rigid forks you have that you no longer need...
I've been looking for months. I don't suppose you have any threadless ones that you'd consider selling? That would make a little space that you could always fill with something else. -

Cleaned up and everything works as it should. In fact, works really really well. Groupset is all Suntour (which if it wasn’t scratched to f*ckery would be really nice. Would probably strip and bung on the Univega if it was in better visual shape) with Dia Compe levers.
Swapped out the mismatched wheelset for a nicer set of Mavics on Shimano hubs from the shed.
Pedals have been banged to shit so bunged on the rat-traps until I can find the box that has so Wellgo with toeclippy things.
Needs a rack, obviously.
And new tyres at some point.

That would be great, thanks! I've got a few 26" mountain bikes that I'm slowly replacing the old suspension forks on. I managed to get a very good Kona Project 2 for one of them, with 200mm of steerer, so anything similar would be ace. I think I could get away with 170mm minimum, without knowing which stem I'd use. It isn't an issue if they have v-brake mounts as opposed to discs, as I prefer rim brakes. Yes, 1 1/8" diameter. I'm in the process of buying an old Diamond Back (see above) but want to use some rigid forks for my commuter bike.

Not to worry Wim, in the end (after driving to look at the bike - having been provided with blurry photos that were no help whatsoever) it turns out the bike was in far worse condition than I'd thought. The frame was 'OK' but the rest less so. The seller wouldn't budge on the price, which was too high anyway, despite the rear derailleur being bent, the headset/BB being shot, and the bike in general needing lots of work. Oh well, lots more to look for!

I got this bike for cheap locally wanting to turn it into a cheap bike I can take anywhere, not spending any money to restore it. Ended up spending some 40€ in new parts but that's all and I'm pretty pleased with it. It's now pretty usable although the gearing is not really ideal for me but oh well. Saddle is pretty shit too but it works.
There is a slight bodge, I'm using a crown race that's not for this headset because it takes a 27.0mm one and the headset I had was for 26.4mm. The shape is very similar but not the exact same one and you notice it when looking at it up close. After ~100km the bearings seem not to have been affected at all by this but it's something I'll have to change asap just to be safe.
Pics are before and after I got it. I've already installed the bar plugs btw, no penis degloving for me.

I picked up this GT Tequesta on FB, anyone got any thoughts on what fork it may have come with? Going to put a rigid on there but wondering how much if any sus correction it’ll need. It’s Reynolds 525, with a 1 1/8” head tube.

I think most Tequesta bikes came with a rigid fork. I'd be looking at around 410mm axle-to-crown length. I think it is probably from '94-'96. Looks in great condition!
I'm biased as hell towards Diamond Back in general so I might not give you a very objective and satisfactory answer haha! I'd definitely go with the DB if it's not too expensive, they are lovely machines.
