This its the reason I started this thread!
One thing I forgot to do when planning my bathroom is how grout lines would line up with toilet and sink edges, I made sure everything was evenly spaced but in hindsight should have focussed on grout lines instead.
With tiling you are meant to start from the centre of the room/wall I believe.
Couple of tiling questions... What's the standard grout gap between tiles, 3mm? Can this vary?
And what's the general feeling with tile placement? Start at the top and work down? From the floor to ceiling? Or start from the centreline of the wall out to the floor and ceiling so you have tiles that are trimmed to the same width?
I'm just getting my head around a few things... I'm about to make a scale drawing of our new bathroom with everything exactly where it's going to go. These little variables I hadn't considered are driving me a bit crazy, I want as few surprises as possible when the builders are in...
First panic was when I realised a grab rail we're putting in would clash/interfere with the rail on the shower we've chosen... That was the first hardware change... Now I'm obsessing about the nook we're putting in and what height that's got to be at in relation to the tiles, etc, etc... It goes on and on... *tears non-existent hair out*
