  • how easy is it to get an ETA 2824 movement serviced? i am assuming relatively easy/cheap but want to confirm.... looking at older tudors :-)

  • I can get that done if you want. Or send it to Swiss Time Services yourself.
    Shouldn't be an issue.

  • apparently they dont "service Tudor watches at this time"

which is bs... I could certainly drop it to you in windsor(?). pm me with how much that would cost :-)

  • No, sorry @ejay2.0 and @regal I was talking about the Longines Skin Diver.

I just straight up don’t like the Bond. Like the SM300, but that Bond variant is gross.

  • I’d do what Regal said. There are very few watches that’ll still look great in 18 years and many of them are Rolex’s… I’d buy an 18k yellow gold Tank Louis and wear it for the next 18 years 🤓

  • What's your best price on the bottom left?

    Edit: assume it's a 210.22.42.20.01.002

  • I like the idea of finding something that you think is notable or the best of their birth year. Failing that get a medium, neutral face oyster.

Choose it now as you won't have the time or headspace later.

  • Put her name on a waiting list for a Daytona. Might be available by the time she is 18

  • This is cool, reminded me of this little thing I tried on at the AD the other day…

  • Gents, my mate is selling this WG Zenith. Mint condition, I think RRP was just under £10k, he wants £4k or thereabouts. Hit me up if you’re keen or want more photos/videos.

  • A £10K watch with a strap like that?

Not even going to touch the weird side complication.

  • Baby daughter is coming soon and I’d thought to buy her a watch to celebrate the birth and give to her at a later date - should I do this now or look for a model when she can choose it?

Just choose an amount now and put in a saving account. Then wait until 18 or 21.

    Or this?

  • Most fine watches will have alligator by default, I don’t like it personally but it’s the norm. What would you expect to see?

I think it’s a really good looking watch and that seems a good price given condition and case material IMO.

  • That may be. But at £10k I'd want a decent metal strap.

Also don't really want to kill alligators for a strap that looks like PVC. 😉

  • hink it’s a really good looking watch and that seems a good price given condition and case material IMO.

First time I agree with Regal

  • Not even going to touch the weird side complication.

Seconds subdial is now a weird complication?

  • Just put a third hand on. Why is a seconds dial a sub?

  • Why design anything any way? :confused face:

  • That Longines is lovely. Never met a longines I didn't like.

As for the zenith, its beautiful and I'm a fan of subseconds dials. It breaks up the face on dress watches that can otherwise be quite bland.

No more watches for me, I'm saving my money for something..... Bike related ..

  • Each for their own.

    Not for me however.

  • Yeah, I agree.

This is a dress watch though, I don’t think you can get a bracelet for it, it would probably look weird and then someone would complain about that :-)
Then again, who pays full retail for a Zenith…?

I think it’s a nice watch, I’d never wear it myself, but would most likely compliment someone in the wild.

I also dig the little “weird complication” although prefer it at 6 o clock like vintage Omegas etc.

  • Sub dials are there to show something important that the main face can't?

Second hands aren't really an additional complication when they work perfectly well on the main face.
