What time is it? Watches and horology

I think the thing with it is, it's going to be so long until she can wear it, would you want something you (or your partner) can wear until you pass it on? Or would it just sit in a drawer/safe for the best part of two decades? If the latter then maybe it makes more sense to buy yourself a watch to celebrate now (and to remind you of her every time you look at it), and then something to mark a significant occasion in her life - 18th, graduation, wedding, etc - when the time comes.

I’d do what Regal said. There are very few watches that’ll still look great in 18 years and many of them are Rolex’s… I’d buy an 18k yellow gold Tank Louis and wear it for the next 18 years 🤓

I like the idea of finding something that you think is notable or the best of their birth year. Failing that get a medium, neutral face oyster.

Put her name on a waiting list for a Daytona. Might be available by the time she is 18

Just choose an amount now and put in a saving account. Then wait until 18 or 21.
