  • Would anyone have any use for some OM manual lenses? Free to whoever can collect from Brockley. I have a 70mm Macro, a 200mm, and a 3x teleconverter.

    Will PM.

  • whats the diff between gold and colourplus ?

The thinking it that Colorplus is Kodacolor VR, along with the Lomo colour films.

Pro Image, Gold and Ultramax are the slightly newer Kodacolor VR-G.

    The VR-G are a bit more contrasted/saturated/sharper I think.

  • Pro Image, Gold and Ultramax are the slightly newer Kodacolor VR-G

I'm not really familiar with Pro Image, but Gold and UltraMax are very different emulsions for sure..

  • Olympus MJU I + Kodak Pro Image

  • These are excellent. Great framing of the kid in the third shot.

  • Olympus MJU I + Kodak Pro Image

nice, especially like the first shot!

  • Cawsand Bay, shot on a Contax G1 with Ultramax 400

..fresh! That's some proper holiday snaps right there 👍

  • Does anyone want either of these? Camera tripod and single leg stand. They are in my garage but i have no idea where they came from - possibly the in-laws for some never-held boot sale.

Free if collected from Epsom KT17

  • Thanks. In typical British seaside holiday fashion you can see the fucking massive rain cloud approaching in the second shot

  • Fun City looks moody as fuck! Nice shots

  • not too versed on photography here; can I take 120mm photos on my lomo, have and them made into slides?

the goal is to project them on some big pieces of card stock that i'm going to coat with cyanotype compound.

  • Yea, you could shoot 120mm negative film (black and white ideally) with your lomo, develop that, and project the negatives onto your cyanotype emusion (assuming you have a projector / enlarger that takes 120mm) - this will give you a positive cyanotype image.

If it really is the cyanotypes you're after I'd probably rather shoot with a digital camera, probably edit the pics into some nice and proper contrast-y black and white images, and print those on overhead transparencies (acetate sheets) - you can then lay those flat on your cyanotype emulsion coated paper or whatever, maybe put a piece of glass on top, and put that under the sun / UV lamp..

  • well my digital camera is pretty garbage.

part of this is looking to do 2 foot x 3 foot prints.

it looks like the easiest was is going develop them and have the negatives scanned and printed to overhead transparencies and get an overhead projector (cheap used). should be able to get UV bulbs for a projector.

  • An overhead projector is great for blowing up transparencies, but I can't imagine whatever "UV bulb" you put in there will affect the cyanotype emulsion a lot that way (I think that lamp would need to be very strong, and close to the emulsion).

Maybe dividing your 2x3ft image into A3 sheets you could have printed on acetate and sticking them together, then have the sun do the work would be an option?

  • Sorry if it's been covered a million times in the thread, but I'm after something smaller I can chuck in my bag. I've got a Pentax ME, and a Canon EOS for slr duties but I've never owned a rangefinder or something like that. Non interchangeable prime lens is fine, 35mm flim, got to be f2.8 or faster and build > weight.
Looking sub £50 ideally as I'll let the older kids use it too and don't want to get all precious about it. Being brought up on Zenith slrs as a kid I'd like something Russian or German, but not a must.
Can anyone recommend something to keep an eye out for, lesser known / less cool cameras that won't carry a hipster tax?

  • An Olympus XA would fit the bill if you can find one for a decent price

Otherwise Olympus Trip 35s are great (and I'm selling one at the moment ;))

Cannonet QL17, Olympus 35RC/D, all also good shouts and can sell for around that mark. The problem with that bracket of camera is some people try and sell them for crazy money to catch out people who aren't paying attention so make sure to look at how much they're selling for on ebay or something as a guide price :)

Put off by the "modern" plastic tbh, if I've looked up the right model.

Ah, saw that in the buy/sell thread, what's your price Inc UK postage?

  • £35 with postage?

  • I've not really posted in this bit of the forum before, but trying to get better at showing people stuff for feedback, so thought I'd post a few images from films gone by... These are from my field work in and around Calais in 2019, mainly in the former Jungle camp after it was cleared and turned into an 'eco-park'. Pretty sure the film was Fuji 200, on an old Canon EOS30.

  • You can get the less famous Yashica rangefinders for less than £50 easily I reckon. I got a decent condition Minister D from eBay for £38, and I got a J for £14 from Oxfam (the former was designed for a defunct battery but there are alternatives/adapters and that only powers the light meter anyway). The Campus is always cheap too.

  • Nice shots! The one with the horses is my favourite 🙂

  • Sounds good, ta. I've lowballed a couple of cameras on the bay so if nothing comes of it I'll drop you a message in a few days :)
