  • Any steals @Tenderloin?

  • got the email but couldn’t face the inevitable queue.. good luck

  • My dream of an Eames lounge chair is dead

  • Loungers were half price.

We got what we went for but no big bits of furniture for us today.

  • Looking for a compact sideboard (max 1m length) and don't really want to spend more than £300. There's quite a few G-plan offerings on the bay around the £200 mark but the question is will is be disappointed by the quality? Its been a while since i've seen any in the flesh but my memory of my gran's stuff is that it wasn't all that. I recently picked up a cheapish unit from Habitat through Argos that is decent enough but i always prefer the look of older used furniture.

I like this from JL but it's spendy and having seen some of there stuff lately i've not been very impressed with the quality

  • Something from Errol would probably do the job?
    eBay is probably your friend

  • Errol or Ercol?

If Ercol then yeah we got a used set of chest of drawers from Ebay and they are built like a tank. Hard to find cheap though.
If Errol then the 40's were not my preferred period

  • I’m finding facebook marketplace is getting better and better for local deals on this sort stuff.

Also got a big G Plan highboard and a tables/chairs that have moved to Europe and back with us and still going strong - so whilst there’s fancier brands, their stuff still holds up very nicely in my opinion.

  • Sorry autocorrect! Yes meant Ercol

  • Fancied a non bike related project and managed to get these as payment for some recent work.

  • Trying to figure out exactly what they are (and what they might be worth). The non adjustable is definitely an Eames by Vitra but I’m not sure which model?

  • The office chair is a Herman Miller, it looks like an Eames but I dunno if they had there own copy?

  • They both seem to use the same modular parts and fixings though

  • I'd like to keep at least one but may sell one on to cover the cost of the refurb. The office chair is a bit fudged but the lift works and is complete. The Vitra swivel chair bar the leather looks to be in excellent condition with very good chrome.

Are there any recommendations for sourcing spare parts? The castors need replacing but are different from what i'm finding on Vitra's website.

  • This’ll polish out right?

  • Lovely chairs!

I think the one without wheels is an EA 207 or 208 (208 doesn’t swivel). One with wheels should be a EA 217

Herman Miller and Vitra are both licenced manufacturers of Eames stuff so both are ‘Eames’

  • Maybe drop these guys an email re parts

  • Nice thanks, it's a swivel so likely the EA 207. If you see above the HM office chair is a structural right off so i'll either talk to my old man about splodging it with his MIG welder to make it useable or i'll see if there's a market for spares.

The EA207 is lovely but i'm not sure i have a good use for it, looking around some seem to go for silly money but would £300 ish with a ripped leather pad seem fair?

  • Love a padded group. Nice find.

  • SCP warehouse sale this Saturday - there’s usually some big discounts on some nice stuff but you have to get down there early!

  • got these chairs I am selling if anyone is interested before they go on eBay. only thing I can find on them is a company in Australia selling them but the acrylic is a different colour. they were retailed in Australia as Namco. I guess these were a UK version, seen them around "vintage shops" a fair bit and all in this dark grey/turquoise colour.

  • would like back roughly what we paid, which was about £180 from a shop a couple years ago, so £160 a fair price? if anyone is interested drop me a message!

a pair was up for sale for £255 on eBay a while back but I don't know if they sold for that much or not.
