After months of being in a losing rut & destroying my KDR I've finally managed to get a Warzone win again!

I think the game has taken pity on me & dumped me down into a lower level of lobbies - I've had to go back to solos for the win too, it's a more boring game style but at least you're not constantly left out numbered!

Just in time too, back at study now so got to take 6 weeks out the game. I'm on some magic BT waiting list for a PS5 so hopefully next time I play it'll be in the next generation!

Played a lot of Diablo 3 on the Switch, might pick up D2 in the future, see what all the fuss is about (having missed the OG)

2 and 3 are quite similar. It would be a bit like going back to GTA3 from GTA5, only with a smaller difference in the graphics now they've been updated. Same basic game but the older one's interface is a bit clunkier. Different assortment of character classes.

The original is purely for the OG players themselves. And for sadomasochists.

the one thing D3 nailed was cost free re-specing. being locked into a skill path of which only a select few per class were actually viable made D2 a bit of a shitshow pre-internet where minmaxing was a matter of trial and error.

D2 came out in 2000, so I think most players had the Net. But it took a while for the player community to form and work out good builds and wrong paths which did mean a lot of people either hit a wall or had to restart their characters. I got lucky with some classes (Necro, Assassin and Sorceress), messed up others. Nailed trap Assassin, never got martial arts Assassin past the Rite of Passage and stopped playing the game before ever working that out.

Gamepass motherfucker! Also I've mainly been doing the extras that weren't in the original release, not that I remember 10 years ago that well.

Purposely an orc with heavy armour and the biggest fuck off axe I can find, quite fun. It still holds up pretty well as a game, graphic upgrades are pretty but things like lighting effects and some of the terrain are obviously polished turds, easy to forget after a few minutes though. Best thing is the near instant loading, I remember it took an age to go into a tiny room then back out again on the 360, I've not managed to read a single loading screen tip yet as they only occasionally even appear after a door or fast travel.

I bit the bullet. the fucking thing runs like absolute dogshit on the ps4 pro which google tells me forces 4k and only downsamples if you choose lower res so it's constantly running like a fucking jet engine and there's like a 2 second lag between pressing a button and something happening. for a game that still looks like it was made 10 years ago it's fucking ridiculous.

I made it through the intro and a bandit camp and it's basically unplayable. apparently some mods improve performance but what was "I'll spend my last tenner on something to take my mind off thing for a 100 hours" is now "this is shit, i've just wasted my money and i dont want to play it".

it just queues all inputs and then they happen in rapid succession a few seconds later.

turns out it's well documented but fuck me for thinking a game released as a special edition "here's the most complete version of a game we've been working on for a decade" wouldn't need research to see if it played ok on the upgraded version of the console it was released for.

That's pretty shit, obviously I've found a few Bethesda special bugs but generally it runs really well on a series X.
