Yes is definitely a shame about the lack of bicycle kits even some potentially larger 1/8 kits would be nice to have the details more legible.
The Protar kits were 1/9 scale and look pretty good, though the new-old-stock prices on auction sites are getting high. This person did an excellent job with the TI Raleigh version:
