Ha! I made some pretty bad calls today.

I'd avoided the thread (and all social media) as I had family commitments this afternoon, so had to watch the last 90 kms after the race. It was fun reading this thread after the event.

For various reasons I watched from the start until I had to go out 1 minute into the first secteur. Unbelievably poor timing.

I was out while it was on so was looking here and on twitter to see what was happening and it was chaotic, didn't work at all.

Spent most of the race watching from behind the sofa. The straight line crashes, falling off the crest of the cobbles crashes, punctures and general carnage made it a great race to watch.
I should add there was not a single part of the race that makes me want to ride the sportive there!!

Didn’t know how skinny the new Pina was til I saw Moscon’s.

There was a shot of him washing himself and his bike off with waterbottles.

Great advert for disc brakes. He must have had new pads and rotors for the race, but the pads wore out after..what..150km? Then he was reduced to using his shoes. No wonder people complain they can't find the pads in the shops...they're about as durable as an after eight.

I look forward to the return of drum brakes. And how about thrust reversers? Or parachutes? Grappling hooks?

They don't appear to do sintered pads (and they are £32 a pair for organic!)

Great racing recently. The way Jules took the World champs win has to be my highlight.
